What is civility?

Civility means...

Doing away with "diversity", "political correctness", and any attempts at forced civility which by definition is NOT civil

Civility means...

Disagreeing with respect; Agreeing to disagree; Ultimately finding agreement through compromise.

Civility means...

Not booing a sporting events.

Civility means...

When I learned about the civility initiative at UT, I thought about this: On the Ag Campus and at Pendergrass Library and in the Veterinary Medical Center, we have a long standing custom of holding the heavy doors open for each other and greeting each other (good morning, hello, come on in), whether we are carrying something heavy or nothing at all. The daily help with the doors and daily greeting over time, without prompting, happens naturally. It seems to enhance the civility of other interactions we may have with each other.

Civility means...

Not judging by appearance.

Civility means...

Being respectful when things don't go your way

Civility means...

Thinking before you speak or act

Civility means...

"Civility is hugs!"
