Ordinary citizens. Civility groups all people together into one collective body, for we are all simply people, ordinary yet different in our own ways.

Courteous and polite. It is the expectation to treat all others, people just as we are, with the same kindness and respect we treat those who are the same as us.

Civility, then, means looking past all labels and tags to see the uniform humanity in every person. And it means that we must go above and beyond that, to treat those people - whether same or different - with equal respect, politeness, and kindness.
